Now that the project is in the outfitting stage instead of the construction phase there are a lot of parts to purchase. Many of these do not need to come from marine suppliers. Here is a list of some of the suppliers I found to have good prices and good service. Always surf around, it is amazing the differences in prices. They are listed in no particular order.
zoro.com - very fast shipping and free if over $50..00. It is amazing what you will find there. I got speed-rail fittings, ss springs and rods, duct fans etc. Great variety of products at good prices.
boltdepot.com - about any fastener you would want, stainless steel and metric included, at great prices. Before you order anywhere else you should check them out.
discountmarinesupplies.com - good prices and good selection. Quick to answer any questions you may have. Reasonable shipping. Five percent of your order amount available for a discount on your next order.
hamiltonmarine.com - have pretty much everything you might need on a boat, easy website to cruise and order, easy checkout. Good prices.
onlinemetals.com - good for miscellaneous metal pieces you may need. Resonable shipping if can go UPS. Aluminum or stainless and about any shape you would need.
defender.com - seem to have good prices on electronics. Do have a good selection for anything for a boat.
twilightjohn@telus.net - this is an Email address. I bought my Webasto furnace from him on recommendation from a friend. Excellent service and very helpful, and great price. Did research at SureMarine.com but their prices were high and wanted to sell me a lot of items I did not really need or could have bought cheaper elsewhere. see next
navstore.com - ordered the heating units (coils and fans) here. Other than they were exactly what I wanted, the three units I ordered were about one hundred and fifty dollars less than SureMarine (and the units were drop-shipped from SureMarine).
ajmadison.com - bought range, refrigerator and freezer. Good price and free shipping at the time. These are apartment size, not marine units.
thechandleryonline.com - 28 inch wood 6-spoke steering wheel. It is made out of asian hardwood and the craftsmanship is not Stazo but neither is the price. It was worth it to me. Shipping a little high but then it came from Canada. Would do it again since that steering wheel is hard to find at a reasonable price.
NorthernTool
northerntool.com - purchased hydraulic valves for hydraulic bowthruster. Good price and appear to be good valves. Their 'hydraulic experts' left a lot to be desired. Worth it if you know exactly what you want.
I do not generally leave a negative comment but this one diserves to be mentioned. Check out RareElectrical, engine parts as starters, alternators etc. Go to www.mvwaterfall.com/starter.html
